Why would anyone bound for Zakynthos drive to a small harbour on the western tip of the Peloponnese? Because Kyllini is where the island's car ferries leave from. Levante Ferries, which publishes the timetable, sails from Kyllini at 07:45, 11:45, 16:15 and 20:30, and from Zakynthos town at 05:30, 09:45, 14:00 and 18:30. That pattern applies every day from 1 November 2026 to 28 April 2027 apart from Sundays and a short list of holidays.
Sundays bring one sailing fewer in each direction and a later first boat from the mainland: 09:30, 16:15 and 20:30 from Kyllini, and 07:30, 14:00 and 18:30 from the island. Levante uses the same Sunday plan on 26 December, 6 January and 25 March. On Christmas Day and New Year's Day the timetable shrinks to a single round trip, leaving Zakynthos at 09:00 and Kyllini at 11:00.
For a foot passenger the price is simple: €13.50 for an adult, one way, on Levante's current list. The company notes that it can change its prices without warning, and it sells nothing on board, so the ticket has to be bought before you reach the ramp.

€13.50 one way for an adult on foot
Levante heads its Kyllini – Zakynthos column 'One way', so €13.50 buys an adult a single crossing, in either direction. The company calls its listed figures prices after discount, and its terms say a ticket shows the total fare: net fare, charges collected for third parties, and VAT.
The same table carries prices for children, cars and motorbikes. It does not say whether a car ticket includes the driver, and both of its child bands mention the age of five, so those figures are left out here; Levante's call centre on +30 210 94 99 400 can quote a family or a car and driver before you book.

Kyllini harbour and the Zakynthos town quay
Both ends handle cars as well as foot passengers. Levante asks drivers to have their vehicle in the waiting area one hour before the sailing, and passengers on foot to be at the ship thirty minutes before it.
Kyllini
Kyllini sits on the western cape of the Peloponnese, in the municipality of Andravida-Kyllini; Levante's own page on the port puts it 280 km from Athens. The same harbour is the mainland end of the company's boat to Poros on Kefalonia, so read the destination on your ticket and on the ship before you board.
Zakynthos
On the island the ferry uses the harbour of Zakynthos town, the capital. The 05:30 departure, which runs every day except Sundays and the listed holidays, means leaving a hotel elsewhere on the island well before dawn if you want to be at the ship the half hour early that Levante asks of foot passengers.
From the Elis coast to Zakynthos town
The ferry crosses the stretch of Ionian Sea between Kyllini, on the coast of the Elis regional unit, and the harbour of Zakynthos town, south-west of the mainland port. Levante gives no sailing time or sea distance for this crossing on its timetable, price or terms pages, and this page does not work one out from the gaps between departures.
Taking a car, a family or a wheelchair across to Zakynthos
- Ticket first, ship second
Levante issues no tickets on board. Buy online, from its port agencies, through a travel agent, or by phone on +30 210 94 99 400.
- Cars an hour early
Drivers go to the vehicle waiting area one hour before departure. Electric and plug-in hybrid cars may board with the battery at no more than 40%, LPG and gas cars with the tank no more than half full.
- 50 kg of bags
Each passenger may carry up to 50 kg of hand luggage without paying extra, according to Levante's terms.
- Help with boarding
Passengers who need assistance should tell Levante or their ticket issuer at least 48 hours ahead and be at the agreed meeting point at the time given.
- Teenagers on their own
Under-15s cannot travel without a parent or guardian. Those aged 15 to 17 need Levante's form and a certified declaration signed by both parents.
- Changing the date
A ticket can be moved to another sailing, if seats are free, up to 24 hours before departure, but only through the agency that issued it or Levante's port agent.
Christmas, Easter and the five Levante ships
Levante has already put Easter 2027 on the same timetable page. From Holy Thursday, 29 April, to Easter Tuesday, 4 May, it gives the departures day by day, with up to six a day in each direction and a single sailing on Easter Sunday, 2 May: 11:00 from Kyllini and 09:00 from Zakynthos. A spring timetable starts on 5 May.
Five ships share the company's Ionian routes: Andreas Kalvos, Kefalonia, Smyrna di Levante, Fior di Levante and Mare di Levante. Levante says they work the crossings in turn and that the allocation can change with passenger numbers.
