Piraeus – Milos ferry
Conventional ferryMinoan's night boat to Adamas and back
One page per route: from Piraeus to Aegina and Milos, from Rafina to Andros, from Kyllini to Zakynthos and Kefalonia, from Kefalonia to Ithaca and from Skiathos to Skopelos. Each says which port the ship leaves from, what kind of vessel it is and what a ticket costs.
Getting to a Greek island starts with choosing the right port. Athens alone has two for the islands, Piraeus and Rafina, and the Ionian ferries leave from Kyllini in the Peloponnese. Every route page names the port at both ends, with its coordinates.
The kind of ship changes the trip. A conventional ferry is slower and usually carries cars; a high-speed vessel cuts the crossing time, costs more and may take foot passengers only. The type is shown at the top of each page.
Greek shipping companies publish their sailings as calendars that run date by date, and fares can vary with the date and the seat chosen. Where a page shows a sample of dates or a fare seen for a particular day, it says so. Prices are in euro.
Each pin marks a port, and a dashed line joins the two ends of a route. Select one for the crossing time and the company, with a link to the route page.

It depends on the island. Piraeus handles the Saronic Gulf and most of the Cyclades, while Rafina, east of the city, is used for some northern Cyclades routes. The two are far enough apart that it pays to check the port on your ticket before you set off.
On conventional ferries and short car-ferry crossings, generally yes, with a vehicle ticket on top of the passenger fare. Many high-speed vessels carry foot passengers only. Hire companies may also set their own rules for taking a car on a ship, so ask them as well.
Departures can be held in port when the coastguard bans sailings in high winds, and strikes can stop ships for a day or more, sometimes with little warning. The shipping company's own notices are the place to check on the day; the tables on this site cannot show it.
Many companies price by date, seat type and how full the ship is. When a page shows a fare seen for a particular date, it says which date, and it does not present that figure as valid all season.
From the shipping company's own website or timetable, read on the date printed beside each table, with a dated copy kept. Figures that appear only on resellers' booking pages are left out.
